“ Food quality is one of the best out there. Service can be a tad slow but friendly. This is the best place to get lobster for me and I highly recommend it if you want to get something flavorfully done for your lobster instead of just having it steamed and dipped in butter. ”
“ My first time here it's now Ding Feng (not Joy Palace) but the sign hasn't changed yet. July 2023. Corner of shopping center. Food: hands down 10 stars!!!! The regular menu they initially gave had alot of items over $20. Later, they offered the newer menu that they only have 2 copies of given the recent change in ownership I believe. They are waiting for more shipment of the new menus. Thank goodness the newer menu had more choices and they are generally under $20 per entree. We were just here for a casual dinner I was not expecting to fork out over a few hundred bucks. The waitress was rattling off the menu specials like half a goose $80, eel special $50. Really? You mean specialty for an arm and a leg or specials like it's a good deal special?? After much bickling with the "patient" waitress, we finally ordered. Exhausting but it's somewhat expected to sift through the thick menu. I inquired about the super vague $19.99 poster indicating lobster with E-Fu noodles. Typically at Chinese restaurants, they sell lobster by the pound. She said the $19.99 is about a little over a pound of lobster. She'd recommend we order double the amount so it goes on a big platter which is roughly over two pounds of lobster and it comes with a choice of egg noodles or flat rice noodles for $39.98. There were whole cloves of garlic throughout this dish and what's nice is the egg noodle (thin noodles in won ton noodles) serve to soak up all the flavor in the sauce. We all enjoyed the lobster of course. It was finger lickin' good when it's wok fried Asian style with whole cloves of garlic. Everyone had a good amount of lobster and noodles. So many were getting this so it's a hot item. The other dishes were quite amazing too. The $18 honey walnut prawns were literally the best I have ever had. The prawns are enormous and perfectly fried with the honey coated walnuts on the side over a bed of fried vermicelli noodles. I believe you get twelve huge pieces. Definite winner! Not greasy and not over dressed. The fish filet with veggies came with big thick slices of white fish with perfectly sautéed broccoli, bok choy , celeries and snow peas. Kind of an odd combo of veggies. It was fresh, light and bright. We asked for less oil and salt on everything and they happily customized yet everything tasted delicious. The bitter melon with beef with black bean sauce and ginger was delish. Very good size cuts of bitter melon and beef and super flavor forward I think it's $18. I personally prefer more sauce if you were to have it with rice but since we are not eating rice, it was no problem. The pork chop in red sauce is popular it may be called mandarin pork chop or honey garlic pork chop it was coated with a red or orange sauce with onions this is an outstanding dish it was sooo tender and lightly sweet and tangy the kids love this. Well, us adults too. It's also finger lickin' FANTASTIC! We all enjoyed this one you get so much meat! We all ate alot and still had lots to take home. Get this!!! Five dishes were more than enough for six of us with big appetites! I guess rice doesn't automatically come with the food but it was so delicious we would rather save room for the good stuff and skip the rice. Don't let the somewhat dumpy outer appearance fool you. Once you walk past the boarded up entry way, you will feel right at home like you're inside a big seafood Chinese restaurant and be ready to swim in Chinese deliciousness! They tack on a service charge for parties of six or more. I think 18 percent?? Each kid count as a head. Overall, be ok with waving people down for your needs. The service was decent not spectacular. The complimentary salted peanuts was a nice touch. The dessert was orange wedges. In the future, we hope they will upgrade to complimentary mango/ tapioca pudding/dessert soup like some places do. Overall, we all love Ding Feng! Free ice water and hot tea too. Bathroom can use a little TLC. Huge place perfect for wedding banquet or parties. ”
“ Grabbed some carbs for dinner take out, food was prepared well and quite good. I have only ever eaten here in the evening and it is never busy. I have also seen this venue commonly used for wedding receptions and various sorts of parties, so I guess depending on the day it will be either very lively or very quiet lol. I heard their busier time is during their brunch/lunch hours and that they still offer the traditional dim sum experience of ordering off of carts that are wheeled around - will have to try it out some time! ”
“ Came here with friends for a weekday dim sum. Our guests said they've been here before but that was many years ago. They were impressed by the food and went back 2 days later by themselves! We have been to too many dim sum places and this one ranks as our go-to spot. We used to go to the Hong Kong dim sum but they closed down a few years ago. I don't like driving to downtown Seattle so this is as close as I can get to good dim sum without going to Seattle. They have good variety! We haven't been there for 3 months and I noticed they have new items. Their food is piping hot. Must haves: sui mai, congee, cheung fun, noodles. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Just a fyi- sometimes they have wedding banquets during the weekends. One time, they closed down the whole restaurant for that occasion. Another time, they opened half of the restaurant. I couldn't help myself and took a peek - they decorated it nicely (with chair covers and table covers..etc) One thing that irked me is that there are lots of cigarette smoke from the front door. It wafts into the restaurant and it stinks it up. Why can't ppl just smoke further back! Second hand smoke is real man. I read someone said that it closed down 12/22...that's totally bogus. ”
“ Came here for dim sum and it was pretty packed. I did enjoy the dim sum that they offer here. Of course I came with a big party and I just ate whatever they had ordered for the table. The chicken feet and Shumai were good and the basics of dim sum entree when I eat at these places. There were other dishes here I usually wouldn't order, but they were good. Service is the same at all Chinese dim sum restaurants. ”
“ We went on a Sunday evening, with a large party of 10 people. The restaurant is spacious and have a large family style lazy Susan to place food on. We enjoyed large family style portions and order the family serving #3 which included glazed shrimp, shark fin soup (imitation), tilapia, mushrooms, bok Chuy, Peking duck, beef dish, octopus, jellyfish among other side dishes. Super hearty meal and plenty leftover. Black tea was served throughout the courses. ”
